We support students to find their unique creative voice, which will speak equally across performance, improvisation and composition. We do this through full and varied undergraduate and postgraduate courses that cover many aspects and forms of jazz and its meeting points with other genres. The 30th birthday programme brings leading artists from around the world and the UK to the capital in November for ten days of live and digital performances, special collaborations, fresh discoveries, and exclusive new commissions. We would like to thank “The JazzCafe” for making our daughter Isha’s first birthday party so special. JazzCafe is beautifully devorated, specious venue with very polite, helpful and friendly staff and admin. Our event went very smoothly with outstanding food, soothing music and great atmosphere.

If you choose a Combined Honours programme (e.g. Jazz with Popular), your Specialist Study (e.g. one-to-one tuition) would be in Jazz and your Specialist Group Study (e.g. ensemble/band) would be in your second genre. We are the only UK conservatoire to offer this type of combined degree where you will study both areas of music throughout all three years.

Our relationships with jazz clubs across the city result in regular performance opportunities at exciting venues, such as Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, Southbank Centre, the Pizza Express Jazz Club in Dean Street and the Vortex Jazz Club. It is not often one encounters an imagination with the depth and prolificacy of Jacob Collier’s. Born in 1994, the London-based singer and multi-instrumentalist is dubbed by many as one of the most innovative musicians of his generation.
In 2012, Collier’s self-made YouTube videos achieved legendary status in the music world, attracting the praise of such luminaries as Herbie Hancock, David Crosby, Steve Vai and Quincy Jones, who manages Collier to this day. His debut album, In My Room, crafted entirely in his room at home, went on to win two Grammys. His success has led to musical collaborators and fans including the likes of Coldplay, Ty Dolla $ign, Tori Kelly, Daniel Caesar, H.E.R., Charlie Puth, Kehlani, Jessie Reyez and Finneas, among others. Chaney has performed around the world in venues and festivals including the Royal Albert Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Glastonbury Festival, Sydney Festival and Newport Folk Festival. She has collaborated with artists including Kronos Quartet, Bryce Dessner, Katia and Marielle Labèque, The Decemberists, Shirley Collins, Eliza Carthy and Jon Hopkins.
She was awarded a 2015 Parlimentary Jazz Award for Jazz Instumentalist of the Year. Her Mercury-nominated band Dinosaur received a rare 5-star review in The Guardian and have extensively toured Europe. It’s vital that everyone has the freedom to explore their interest in and passion for jazz during their studies. The standard Jazz is available in three trim levels, with SE representing the entry level, SR the mid-range and the EX specification of our test car the range-topping grade. You’ll play with jazz musicians from all backgrounds, from raw talent to polished, and from progressive to purist. You’ll also benefit from working alongside students from other pathways, collaborating with producers, sound engineers, composers and entrepreneurs on your own independent projects.
